Vanessa Gilbert is the Executive Artistic Director of Perishable Theatre in Providence, RI. She is a puppeteer, teacher, director and playwright. She is also the co-director and co-founder of Blood from a Turnip, RI's oldest late night puppet salon (now in its 14th year of showcasing short form puppet shows for adults. Though Providence is full of talent—thanks in part to Brown University and RI School of Design—Gilbert’s slams draw talent from Boston, UConn, NH, PA and beyond.
