Open call for performances for the 60th PIF – International Puppet Theatre Festival

Cultural Centre Travno invites puppet theatres, arts organisations, independent companies and individual artists from Croatia and abroad to submit productions for the 60th anniversary edition of the International Puppet Theatre Festival – PIF.

The festival will take place from 17 to 23 September 2027 in Zagreb. This anniversary edition brings together different generations and artistic approaches, creating opportunities to exchange the experiences that shape contemporary puppetry.

What we are looking for

The call is open to productions for children, young people and adults. We welcome a wide range of puppetry practices, from traditional techniques to object theatre, shadow theatre and visual theatre, as well as interdisciplinary performances in which puppets, objects or animated materials play an important dramaturgical role.

Both indoor and outdoor productions may be submitted. Please specify the recommended audience age, performance language and venue requirements in the application form.

About the festival

PIF is an international festival and a meeting place for puppetry artists and audiences, rooted in the Esperanto ideal of connecting people and cultures. Alongside performances, the festival provides a forum for discussion through workshops, exhibitions, film screenings and professional programmes. Its 60th edition is an opportunity to connect a rich festival heritage with new artistic approaches.

Please send the completed application form and supporting materials to pif@kuctravno.hr by 31 January 2027. Complete a separate form for each production.
