UNIMA-UKRAINE is honoured to share information about the International Puppet Theatre Festival ‘Interlyalka’ (to be held 1-3 October in Uzhhorod, the heart of Ukraine’s Transcarpathian region, where many European cultures meet). This biennial festival is the oldest in Ukraine since the country regained its independence. This year, the festival is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

Since the start of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the festival has been held in a hybrid format - offline and online. For safety reasons, foreign theatres and companies are invited to participate online, that is, via the broadcast of their performances video recordings. A special cinema hall is being set up for festival participants for this purpose. Such screenings are particularly popular, especially among students training to become actors, directors and set designers.
